This page contains FREE search engine submission links that we are experimenting with.  We are providing you with this information to USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.  We recommend creating a free e-mail account on one of the free mail services such as hotmail or yahoo so that you don't have to input your personal e-mail account.  That will cut down on junk mail and allow you to manage the search engine submissions properly.  You may get blasted with pop-ups on some of these links so make sure you have popup blocker active.

http://ffa.trafficwave.net/ September 2005 - FFA_Submitter - Start date of first submission.  Really easy and fast so far.  Used an e-mail account ONLY for junk mail.  After submitting you must confirm submission by clicking on an e-mail sent to you. TrafficWave FFA Advertising CONFIRMATION REQUESTED.  Just find the line that says confirm your ad and click the link.  THEN, from that e-mail, you must cut and paste the entry code into the box and click.  We'll see what happens!

Search Engine Optimization and Free Submission
September 2005 - I find myself returning to this site over and over again.  They do send out interesting newsletters and allow you to submit many urls, many times.  I have only used the free service.
February 2005
Started testing this submission service.
www.kanoodle.com (PAID PROGRAM - NOT FREE) CONCLUSION:  This service is great for initial exposure.  Your site will be placed at the top or near top of your chosen keywords in the search engines.  We would use this service for initial exposure or periodically, but not on a monthly basis unless you have money to burn.

June 17, 2004 - Joined for a free $5.00 promotional program.  Entered five key words and site name.  Waiting for site approval.  Site was approved quickly.  $5.00 ran out in a day.  After you use the promotional program they want you to pay $50.00 to sign up.  Each click that you get is charged at a minimum of .05 cents per click, which is middle of the road in pay per click pricing.  However, .05 cents adds up quickly and does not produce immediate or "in the near future" results.  In other words, you get clicks immediately, your $50.00 is used up quickly, but you'll have to wait a really long time to get paid back by customers using or purchasing from your site on a regular basis, if ever.
July 2, 2004 - I chose not to put more money in this kanoodle account and I get an e-mail EVERY DAY asking me to put money into my account.
www.promotionworld.com July 2004 - NO INCREASE IN HITS.
Free submission to 80+ search engines.  Joined June 6, 2004.
http://www.worldwidepromoter.com Sept 2005 - This site now charges.  It is no longer free.
July 2004 CONCLUSION:  This service was really great for increasing ranking to a degree.  It did not generate more visitors to the site.  Would we use it again? Probably, but we'd use it knowing that the service has its limits in what it can deliver.  It added links to a lot of FFA (Free for All) sites.

UPDATE:  Search engines are picking up the test site more and more.  I'm liking this service more, but it seems to take some time.

Free submission to 1500 search engines.  Must create a free account, validate e-mail address and resubmit every month.  Also must revalidate your email address every week.  Once you create the free account they hit you with the opportunity to upgrade your submission services for a fee.  After you create an account you select where you want the information submitted.  It is a tedious process, but what can one expect from a free service?  After submitting you need to go to the e-mail address you gave them and click on links confirming that you actually requested the submission.  I submitted my information two hours ago and I have 200 e-mails in my box.  STRONGLY SUGGEST that if you choose to use this service, you go to Yahoo, hotmail or another free e-mail service and create a free e-mail account specifically for this and other free submissions.  You WILL get overwhelmed with e-mails.
June 6, 2004:  Joined this service on June 6, 2004.  Overnight the popularity ratings of the chosen test site went from approx 1,500,000 down to 909,000 which is a good change.
June 9, 2004:  When searching for the test websites name on Yahoo (June 9, 2004), two new listings from this submission showed up.  Nothing new on webcrawler.  Nothing new on Google.
June 12, 2004:  Site ranking position is now 862,569.
I now have 2,079 e-mail messages in my bulk folder and 159 in my inbox.  Good thing I got a free yahoo account for this submission!!!!!
June 17, 2004 - add another 1,000 emails to the above total.  No change in ranking position and not really any more visitors to the site than before.
July 1, 2004 - at least 2,000 more e-mails than last count.  No increase in hits.

TrafficSmartz NOT RECOMMENDED
Tried the free demo from download.com
Loading this program was a pain in the #$&.  I had to change my monitors screen resolution, then I had to restart TWICE.  The first time I tried to run the program I got a runtime error.  I removed the program and tried doing a clean install and again got the runtime error.  Never got to see what this program had to offer, but if it's anything like the install, I'm not interested.

Link Popularity Plus 1.0 This tests the web site positions on search engines.  WORKS WELL, but doesn't give extensive information.
Free Program from Download.com
Easy install.
Immediate results.
http://www.free-press-release.com Allows you to submit a free press release.
http://www.adhearus.com/ (PAID TARGETED BANNER AD SERVICE) September 2005 - This site is no longer active.
This is a pay per click service.  You create basic banner ads and they place your banners on sites with a similar topic.

September 2005 - The press release submitted still shows up in searches.
June 2004
Allows you to submit a free press release.

The same press release was picked up in the search engines and resulted in approximately 16 pages in Yahoo.  All linked to the same ONE press release.  We don't have any idea if this increased traffic or increased hits, but it did show up in the search engines.  It is now three months later and the press release has disappeared in the search engines.

February 2005, Seems to be working ok.  Still testing.  No significant increase in search engine presence, but some.

January 2005
- Presently testing this free submission/ranking tool.  There is also a listing of search engines that offer free submission.  The initial one-time free submission took me less than 2 minutes.  Then I pressed on the "More Free Search Engines" link and spent two hours entering the test website URL into each engine.
