We like to inform you of a very significant hardware
and software UPGRADE this Saturday and Sunday. Please expect some
downtime. We are upgrading the server hardware to AMD64 Athlon 3800+ (if
you are not familiar with AMD, this is comparable to a 3.4 GHz Intel P4
server). Furthermore, the operating system is upgraded from the now
outdated RedHat Linux 9 to CentOS 4.3 (same as RedHat Linux Enterprise 4).
And the current Plesk 7.5.4 will be upgraded to version 8 which comes with
a very nice new backup system and other advancements. We will also upgrade
PHP from currently 4.4.2 to version 5.1.2. The smoothest way to do these
upgrades is to deploy a new server, install all software, and then
transfer all accounts. This is exactly what we are going to do. Please
understand that we are not able to give you an *exact* time schedule,
because there are too many things involved in this upgrade. We will try
our best to get all this done after the usual business hours on Saturday.
